Project Update: First tutorial complete!

Today we reached an exciting milestone for our project as we finished the very first tutorial! It was quite a process considering the nature of the tutorial (Save your song to Google Drive from GarageBand which doesn't even teach much musical content), but we are proud to know that it can be done!

We spent a while working on the editing of this tutorial as we realised that the videos involved a lot of student information at my prac school and so we worked out how to blur any identifying info and then speed up the video while the recording shows the user typing in an email and password. It was a lot of effort but we hope it is worth it!

Once the videos were completed in Screenflow, Louise exported them all as separate video files and then I imported them into the Hype file. From there, I exported the Hype document as an HTML5 file which creates a resource package and a URL and compressed it. Then I uploaded it onto the LEARN platform at my prac school (similar to Moodle) and created a link on the year 7 music page which opened the HTML5 file in a new window in Google Chrome. It was very exciting to see it all coming together.

We each have very clear roles in this project and we are almost at the stage were we can just push through it because we understand how to use the programs. This is great news because the production of the other tutorials should get faster.
